Begin your tour with us as your safari dreams start to become a reality. You'll join us for a briefing on the fantastic journey we have planned together as we introduce you to your friendly and knowledgeable guide. With these enjoyable formalities over, it's time to get going!

The best thing about visiting Amboseli is seeing large elephants with big tusks with Africa's highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro (5895m), in the background. It's also an excellent place to see lions, cheetahs, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeests and gazelles. Also, 420 bird species have been recorded here, so make sure you bring your binoculars.

Really close to Amboseli National Park's eastern entrance, Sentrim Amboseli Lodge is a simple camp that sets you up nicely for visiting the park. Accommodation is in a mix of rooms and safari tents, and the open-sided restaurant is a good place to relax. Swim in the pool, and catch a glimpse of Mt Kilimanjaro whenever the clouds clear over the summit.

Lake Naivasha

You're almost guaranteed to see hippos when you visit Lake Naivasha, the highest of Kenya's Rift Valley lakes at 1884m above sea level. You might also see zebras and giraffes close to the shore of the lake.

You can step out of your room and wander down to the shore of Lake Naivasha when you stay at Burch Resort. Apart from the fine lakeside position, Burch has ample grounds, a good restaurant, and large, bright rooms. It draws a mix of local and international visitors, making this a great place to meet other travelers.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is sure to be one of the highlights of your safari in Kenya. For a start, you'll almost certainly see rhinos (both black and white), lions (including rare tree-climbing lions) and endangered Rothschild's giraffes (which have very pale markings below their knees). Watch also for flamingo, leopard and plenty of birds, all set against a beautiful backdrop of acacia forest, lake and escarpment.

Enjoy being inside the national park here at the Wildlife Club of Kenya Guest House Nakuru, especially when zebra, buffalo and rhino pass right by the gate. Accommodation is simple but well-looked after, the beds have mosquito nets, and bathrooms are shared. You'll find a kitchen and dining room inside the house as well.

Day 5 & 6

Masai Mara National Reserve

One of our favorite places to look for wildlife in Kenya is the Masai Mara National Reserve. That's because the wildlife here is incredible, with big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs) and elephants among the highlights. There's a very good chance you'll also see giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and, of course, impalas. And bring your binoculars, because more than 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. It's a place of beautiful savannah landscapes as well, with lots of acacia trees.

Jambo Mara Safari Lodge

Being in a quiet area close to the wonderful Masai Mara National Reserve and its wildlife is just one of the highlights of staying at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge. You'll sleep in excellent modern rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the lodge has a large and inviting swimming pool as well as a good restaurant. Acacia and other trees fill the grounds.
