Day 1

Begin your tour with us as your safari dreams start to become a reality. You'll join us for a briefing on the fantastic journey we have planned together as we introduce you to your friendly and knowledgeable guide. With these enjoyable formalities over, it's time to get going!

You'll find it difficult to take your eyes off Mount Kenya (5199m), which is Africa's second-highest mountain and possibly its most beautiful. The mountain is also sacred to the local Kikuyu people.

Accommodation Day 1

Judmaier Campsite

You'll sleep at Old Moses Mountain Camp, at an altitude of 3300m, high on Mt Kenya. As you'd expect up here, there's simple dorm accommodation with bunk beds, a camping area and a communal dining hall. A high plateau surrounds you with sweeping views, and you'll be able to swap climbing stories with the other travelers who pass through here.

Spend more time looking at magnificent Mount Kenya.

Shipton Campsite

Up here, in a valley high on Mt Kenya, Shipton's Hut (4200m) is a terrific place to meet other climbers: there's a real sense of camaraderie among those who make it this far. Simple beds and cold showers are one thing, but up here it's all about enjoying summit views, admiring the unique local flora and swapping stories of your climb.
